Many of you have recently inquired as to how Moki is doing on the Baytril. Well for one, Moki seems to agree with us that the new compounding pharmacy sucks. The texture of the compounded formula seems to be a little more than Moki can bare. While he has been on medication most of his life, and has always been relatively good at taking the vast majority of medications given, Moki tends to gag and spit up most of the Baytril.
The good news is that we only have to give Moki the Baytril once a day, and what little we do seem to be getting in him, appears to be working. Moki's coughing has once again started to improve. So for now, we will stick with the Baytril, and find a different compounding pharmacy to fill the medication for us in the future.
Today was one of Moki's better days, while he spit up some of the Baytril, he managed to keep some of it down without gaging. We recorded this video to give you a better idea of what it is like to give Moki the Baytril in comparison to the earlier video we recorded as part of our "Special Needs Series - Part 4 Medicine/Moki Station." By comparing the two videos you should get a pretty good idea of what we are talking about.

Oh Moki, we didn't realize all that you go through. Hope your cough gets better. You are a sweet kitty.
Sorry to here about Buddy. The PM's sister lost her cat Baby Kitty a week ago today and they are still very upset. Healing takes a long time.
Purrs to you and your extended family.

I fink that Moki is very brave to take his medicines so calmly! I could never be as brave as Moki!
Oh, Moki! That Baytril does not look very delicious at all.
Baytril is awful tasting stuff. I could not figure out why my rabbit was struggling so much, given that I mixed the Baytril with juice. Then I tasted it. Awful.
mew Moki you are so very brave. Your parents too. I wish you continued good days.
Poor Moki! I am glad your cough is better even though the medicine tastes terrible.
Thankyou so much for visiting me. I am much better now and eating normally. Finishing up with the special fluids today and will be heading back to the vet's tomorrow morning. We all hope that this is the last visit for a while.
I can see the difference. At least the Baytril is helping his cough. I hope you can find another compounding pharmacy to make the Baytril easier for Moki to swallow.
Moki, you are such a good boy! I think you are a a Big Man Cat for taking the (icky) medicines like a champ. My mama has had many battles trying to get foster cats to take anything..
I hope your coughing is better soon, little buddy.
Moki, you are so good at taking your medicine! We are glad that Baytril is helping your cough.
oh Moki you're so good taking the new medicine, we know that's not tasty and we hope you'll find better compounding to replace it...

This video really makes us feel touched. Moki is such a good kitty about taking his bad-tastin' medicine! We just want to kiss and hug him. We love you, Moki!
Awww Moki, you do such a good job taking that icky stuff. I don't like taking medicines at all.
Meowm is sending you and your beans great big hugs and I am sending gentle headbutts.
Hi Moki, I think you are such a good cat to even attempt to take that yucky Baytril. Would it be possible to mix it with some slushy, easily syringed food like Hills AD to lessen the horrible taste?
