Sissy Update

The results from the blood work came back this morning. Sissy's kidney's in addition to her liver are indeed failing. Now the good news is that the failure, while still being very high, is not quite as far along as Sissy's doctor suspected. Therefore, Sissy's doctor thinks that she should remain here with us for awhile longer...(huge sigh of relief...)

No one knows for certain at this point the exact amount of time Sissy still has, and the most important thing for us to focus on at the moment is getting Sissy to eat again. She has only managed to take a few bites of food since Friday. I have begun force feeding her, and we hope that she will begin eating on her own again soon. As for her diet, Sissy now has to eat Royal Canin Renal LP. It is Sissy's doctor's hope that the LP will slow down, if not reverse some of the damage done to Sissy's liver and kidneys. After all is said and done, we are still dealing with a matter of time. There is nothing we can do to save Sissy, but we can at the very least hope to buy her some more time...

Well, I am glad there is some good news. Maybe the best thing is that you know your days together are not infinite, so you can truly treasure the time you have left with Sissy. I am purring for Sissy, and I hope her appetite will pick up soo

Come on, Sissy, eat, eat, eat! You can eat anything you want right now. Take advantage of it.

We guess we get to suggest baby food this time, if you haven't already tried it, already.

Sissy, you are a very pretty kitty cat. I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well. My Mum's kidneys are failing and sometimes she doesn't want to eat either, but she forces herself and always feels better afterward. Please eat Sissy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
