Whats New In Our World...

It's been awhile since we last gave an update on Sissy. We are very lucky and thankful to have her still here with us. She is doing much better at the moment. She will eat a tablespoon of Fancy Feast (ya we know, not the greatest stuff to feed her, but the only thing she will eat and likes, and with the tumor growing, we figure Sissy might as well spend her remaining days enjoying the things she likes...,) a couple of times throughout the day. Her energy level varies from day to day. One day she is very active and the next, very slow to move around. We have found that keeping Sissy around the other cats seems to perk up her spirits. We still dont know how much time we will have with Sissy, it could be days, weeks, months, maybe even a year...so we just cherish each day, and hope its not our last.

In other news, Deb and ML are holding an auction to benefit both Moki and Panther. The funds from the auction will be used to help cover Panther's medical bills and to build a safe enclosure for Panther, in addition to helping cover Moki's physical therapy costs...

With the help of a physical therapist, and possibly some leg braces, we hope, or should I say believe, we can improve Moki's ability to walk. Last time we where at UC Davis, bone and muscular damage was noted as a result of Moki's neurological condition. The orthopedic surgeon who viewed Moki's x-rays in addition to his neurologist, both believe that a physical therapist, can help us correct this condition, or at the very least keep it from getting any worse. It is believed that without physical therapy, Moki will eventually lose his ability to walk altogether, as the muscle and bone damage would naturally progress if left untreated.

It is with this in mind that we ask you, all of you, to please stop by Deb and ML's auction. If you can afford to bid on an item and see an item you like, then please feel free to do so. If you cannot afford to bid on an item at this time, but would still like to show your support, we ask, that you please leave them a nice thank you. Deb and ML have done so much to support so many kitties in the CB that we can't express our thanks enough!!!

On a final note, please join us this Saturday to celebrate the raising of the money to cover the cost of Moki's MRI and CSF Tap. We will be throwing a big bash and hope to see you all there!!!

I am glad that Sissy is doing better. I think you are right to just let her eat whatever she enjoys right now.

I sure hope the physical therapy and braces will help Moki! I think the auction blog is such a great idea, and I already won the very cute "Curiosity" cat tile pendant.

Sissy is so pretty, I agree - give her what she likes to eat. I hope you have many good days still left with her. I am also glad that she enjoys being around the other cats.

Moki is looking good in those pictures. Wouldn't it be wonderful if he could get some physical therapy!

Jan's going to be working a special adoption day at the shelter tomorrow so we probably won't get to come, but we know it will be a successful celebration and lots of kitties will be there.

Sweet Moki. He's been through so much. We're so happy he's getting closer to physical therapy and braces.

Have you tried frozen catfood for Sissy? My sister Maxime was eating very poor too, and now with complete fresh meath catfood she is perking up and loves it. Anyway, we will send purrs to your sister, Moki!!

And of course we will be at the party tomorrow!! :-)

I'm glad to hear Sissy is doing better. We agree, she should eat whatever she wants! When mommy's old Golden Retriever turned 15, he got to eat whatever he wanted including, ew, asperagus.

We bid on the cool travel bag and really hope we win. If not that bag, we'll bid on the other.

We hope this auction raises oodles of money for Moki and Panther!
