Meme Catch up

We are a little behind in our Meme's so today we are playing catch up. If we missed any please let us know!

Our very favorite "Furry Fighter," Storm tagged us for the Book Meme.

Here are the rules:

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to Mickey once you have posted it.

The book is called "Critical Thinking" it is the 8th Edition.

Sorry cats, it was the closet book around since momma bean just finished up a critical thinking class...So here it goes...

"Conflicts between nations usually produces derogatory stereotypes of the opposition; it is easier to destroy enemies without pangs of conscience if we think of them as less "human" than ourselves. Stereotyping becomes even easier when there are racial differences to exploit. The next batch of slanting devices doesn't depend as much on emotional associations as on the manipulation of other features of language."

Now we get to tag five kitties. We chose the following five:

1. The Guyzos
2. -d ma
3. Tun Tun
4. Artsy Catsy
5. Willow

Our next meme comes from Dr. Tweety and the Fab Five It is the middle name meme. This is our second time being tagged, and by now we are sure most of you know all the rules, but we will repeat them anyway:

1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name.)
3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

Ok so my middle name is Joe! Moki Joe (Mojito...haha) So here is the new one we thought up:

J: Jumping. I am just starting to learn how!

O: Overwhelmed. I have been overwhelmed by the amount of love and support I have received
from everyone in the CB!

E: Excited. I get very excited when watching the birdies out my window.

Now for the tagging. We are going to cheat a little here, and tag anyone who has not yet been tagged...

Enjoy the remaining of your weekend everyone!

Purs and Headbutts,

Moki and the gang

Baytril For Coughing

Many of you have recently inquired as to how Moki is doing on the Baytril. Well for one, Moki seems to agree with us that the new compounding pharmacy sucks. The texture of the compounded formula seems to be a little more than Moki can bare. While he has been on medication most of his life, and has always been relatively good at taking the vast majority of medications given, Moki tends to gag and spit up most of the Baytril.

The good news is that we only have to give Moki the Baytril once a day, and what little we do seem to be getting in him, appears to be working. Moki's coughing has once again started to improve. So for now, we will stick with the Baytril, and find a different compounding pharmacy to fill the medication for us in the future.

Today was one of Moki's better days, while he spit up some of the Baytril, he managed to keep some of it down without gaging. We recorded this video to give you a better idea of what it is like to give Moki the Baytril in comparison to the earlier video we recorded as part of our "Special Needs Series - Part 4 Medicine/Moki Station." By comparing the two videos you should get a pretty good idea of what we are talking about.

Pet Meds - Medical Package Inserts

After yesterday's ordeal with the compounding pharmacy, we starting thinking to ourselves, why is it that in today's society, we do not insist on having a package insert, the form containing the indications, side effects and other relevant information known about a prescription or non prescription drug, included with all medications prescribed for our pets?

Why do we as a society accept less information on the medications given to our pets? We know full well that medications can cause side effects, so why aren't pet owners informed in a proper manner about the potential side effects? Why are we not provided with all of the relevant information related to the drugs used to treat our animals? Do we simple chose not to be informed? What are your thoughts and opinions on the subject? Should we as responsible pet owners start demanding more information about the drugs prescribed for our pets?
