It's That Time Again...

The autographed book raffle is back! As many of you may recall, we raffled off this package back in July. The winner of the original raffle Peggy, however asked that we keep this package and re-raffle it to help raise additional fund for Moki. So here it is!

For those new to this raffle, you will find amongst the many wonderful items, two books which have been autographed by their writers, thanking you personally for helping Moki. It's the two books make this raffle truly one of a kind...

As many of you know Amy Shojai, one of the co-authors of "Chicken Soup For The Cat Lovers Soul," wrote a wonderful piece on Moki awhile back on the blog she authors for http://www.petside.com/Amy has now written one of two follow up pieces on Moki which can be found at the following web address: http://www.petside.com/tips-treats/blogs?BlogUrl=/petsideblog/2008/06/moki_update.html.

NOMS Day

Today we are celebrating NOMS Day. NOMS Day was created by The Cat Realm, and it is a day "to remember that all beings are equal, to remind ourselves to be tolerant towards everybody, to reach out across species, cultures, nationalities, religions, languages, beliefs and appearances and to come together and embrace our differences." With that said, we would like to introduce you to our special "Not of My Species" friends, "the deer guys..."

We have many deer guys and gals where we live. So many in fact that the beans have to be careful while driving late at night. The deer guys and gals love to run up and down our street, and even hide in the bushes in our front yard and jump out at you when pulling into the driveway. Momma bean says you have to be extra careful to keep an eye out for them. We think they are cute and love to watch them from the window...So there you have it. Today we are celebrating another wonderful four legged species, deer! They kind of look like Bambi don't you think?

Moki's MRI Images - A Cat's Brain

Here are some of the MRI images taken by UC Davis of Moki's brain. There are lots of images, so we will continue to put up more throughout the week...Enjoy!

P.S. I tried to get the images as clear as I could, but am not familiar with the reader software. Additional problems included having to load the reader software on my computer, and take pictures with my camera of the images, so that they could be shared with you. All of this had to be done without using the flash on the camera, since the light from the flash reflected off my computer screen and washed the images out...These where the clearest shots I could get.

P.P.S. We heard that our missing squillions have been spotted in Malaysia. We'd better go check it out!

Physical Therapy/ Hydro Therapy For Cats Appt. 4

Here are some pictures from Moki's forth physical therapy / hydro therapy appointment, which occurred this afternoon. Today's appointment was pretty uneventful. Moki paddled a little bit, but for the most part refused to do much of anything. We where able to get him to kick his front and back legs periodically throughout the appointment, but he refused to kick/paddle his legs for any length of time. His kicking and paddling was also fairly weak, when compared to his prior three appointments... We therefore decided to end his appointment a little early today...

We are going to try working with Moki in the bathtub a little during the week, to see if maybe our next appointment will be more successful... (One unsuccessful appointment out of four, isn't too bad.) Perhaps today was just an off day... in any event...

In other news:
The disk with the MRI images arrived from UC Davis today. As soon as we can figure out how to use the special medical software (image reader) we'll get them up for all of you to see! Well that's all for now...Enjoy whats left of the weekend!

We Received a Package...

The package was from ML and all of the sweet kitties at Missy Blue Eyes. Inside the package was the wonderful gift shown in the photographs below...

For those of you who can't quite make everything out, the package contained:

1 Kitty cell phone purse (which was sent by Criz Cats to ML to be auctioned off and which she bidded on and won.)

3 Loofa Cat toys

As you can see from the pictures and video below, both Moki and Orange Boy really enjoyed the Loofa Cat toys...Moki laid dibs on the purple one, and...

Orange Boy claimed the orange toy of course...



The "faith" and "hope" signs are particularly special, given Moki's condition, so now we just need to find the right place to display them!
