Save the environment...help a cat...

Finals are over!!! Momma bean now has until April 7th before she has to worry about taking classes again! Woohoo!!!

With that said, there are several people we would like to thank. First off, thank you to everyone who joined us in purring for Buddy and his family. While nothing can replace their loss, having your support, has helped ease the pain…

Secondly, we would like to thank Beau and everyone who participated in the squillions auction. You guys all made the auction a huge success. Beau with your help raised $380.00, $190.00 each for Moki and Lilly Lu! Thank you Beau and all those who contributed!

Thirdly, we would like to remind everyone of Artsy Catsy fundraiser, which is still going on. Please stop by Artsy Catsy’s blog and help us to make it as big of a success as Beau’s fundraiser! Remember, a very kind “anonymous benefactor,” will match all funds raised by Artsy Catsy!

And now for some news of our own…After giving it much thought, and trying to figure out ways, we too could raise money for Lilly Lu, Moki and other kitties in the CB needing financial assistance, we think we finally came up with something! We didn’t want to ask people to have to buy anything after Beau’s and Artsy Catsy’s fundraisers, and we where looking for an environmentally friendly way to raise some money, which may be tax deductible…

Then it dawned on us; why not throw a drive to recycle your old electronics? One single cell phone, if improperly disposed of, “can pollute up to 132,000 liters of water!” Just imagine the kind of negative impact the millions of used cell phones out there, which are improperly disposed of each year, have on our drinking water, here in the U.S. alone! It’s not a pretty thought. So what if we where to tell you, we can raise money for Lilly Lu, Moki and other kitties in the CB, by recycling these phones and other used electronics? Now what if we also told you, your donation could be tax deductible, and that it wouldn’t cost you a thing to ship these used electronics to a company that will recycle or refurbish the used electronics in accordance with EPA regulations. Would you help?

If so, then place the above badge on your blog, or website, to show your participation in the drive, and to encourage others to join as well. Next, provide me with your email address and I will email you the tax deductible forms for you to hand out to anyone who would like a tax deduction. Once you have the tax deduction forms, round up all of your old, no longer used cell phones, inkjet cartridges, digital cameras, MP3 players, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DS Original, GameBoy Advance, GameBoy Pocket, Sega Gamegear and Sony PSP handhelds. Talk to your friends, neighbors and family members and ask them to round up theirs as well. If you work in an office, ask them about how they dispose of their used cell phones and inkjet cartridges. Ask church members and everyone you know! Gather as many of the electronics listed above as you can, from whatever sources you can...

Once you have gathered a good amount of used electronics, email me again and I will send you a prepaid FedEx label. All you have to do is then drop the items off in the mail. It's that simple!

The money we raise from the drive will then be split three ways. A third of the money will go to Lilly Lu to help cover her medical costs, another third will go to the Cat Blogosphere to distribute to other cats in need, and the remaining third will go to Moki to help cover his medical costs. (Approximately 14 days after a shipment of used electronics have been mailed in, we will send the money to Lilly Lu and the CB through Paypal. Once all money has been raise to cover Lilly Lu's and Moki's medical bills, which by the way we are approximately half way there with raising the needed sum for Moki, then all remaining money raised from the drive will be donated directly to the CB to distrubte to other cats in need!)

What could be an easier, better way, to help raise money for your CB friends, while doing something good for the environment?
