Lucy Now Has Wings

We are not sure how it happened, but Lucy crossed to the bridge tonight. She was laying in her favorite sun spot, and I thought she was in a deep sleep, however when I tried to wake her, she wouldn't wake up, that's when I noticed she wasn't breathing...Please say a little prayer for our angel Lucy, who had so much personality. She was our kitty jester and we will miss her dearly...
Update:
We couldn't go on without knowing, and now we wish we had. Lucy was taken in for an autopsy this afternoon, we just had to know. As some of you may recall, Lucy was an aggressive cat, not really suitable for adoption, by working with Lucy and allowing Lucy to go outside when her aggression peaked, we where able to control her anger, and keep her from hurting unsuspecting people. When Lucy attacked she really attacked, and often inflicted deep wounds. She got me bad enough once that my arm swelled from my wrist all the way to my elbow. Despite Lucy's aggressive nature, we loved her anyway, and in time she warmed up. We could never keep her completely indoors, for her aggression would build, and she would become a danger, but as long as she was allowed to come and go as she pleased, she was the sweetest, silliest kitty on earth.
Now for the results of the autopsy. Lucy had serve lung trauma and internal bleeding. Our vet suspects that Lucy was either kicked by a horse (we live out in the country) or hit by a car. You could not tell by looking at her, there was no signs of external damage other than a very small bit of blood around her nose, which I must have over looked when I discovered her because I was so shocked by her sudden death. The amount of damage done to Lucy's lungs would indicate that she was in unimaginable pain, however despite whatever pain she must have been feeling in the end, there was only one thought going through her head and that was to get home. I believe in my heart that Lucy crawled home to die for two reasons, the first being that she wanted her final moments to be spent in a place she loved and was well loved in return. The second reason I think she crawled home despite the pain, is because she didn't want us to worry, she didn't want us to have to spend days, weeks, months wondering what had happened to her. I think deep down she was trying to tell us that she would never leave us, and that death was the only thing that could make us part. Our sweet girl made it home, her message did not go unheard as she laid down in her favorite sun spot to die.

Gosh... she's has always being so beautiful. My condolence to you Crystal. I will pray that she has a smooth journey over the rainbow bridge. I'm still in a shock on how she could have gone so suddenly without any signs at all. Anyway, it's best that she passed away so peacefully. Stay strong there :)
