Physical Therapy Appt. 6

Moki had his six physical therapy/water therapy session on Saturday. Despite Moki being unhappy about the session, he actually swam quite well. While Moki can't quite swim on his own, he is getting to the point where he needs very little assistance once we get him going...

He still requires two people to help him out, and I regularly have to get my hands in the water to assist Moki with his front legs, while his physical therapist works with his back legs. Of course this makes it a little difficult to actually capture his hydro therapy sessions on film. The video I shot above was actually taken at the end of Moki's session, which ran 25 mins (during which he paddled his legs the whole time.) I was hoping since he was doing so well, his therapist might be able to hold him for a few minutes by herself while we captured his swimming on film. Unfortunately, the minute I took my hands out of the water, Moki got upset and stopped swimming altogether. Oh well, it was worth trying to get it on film. Maybe next week I can get my boyfriend to come to the session and have him record it for us...now that would be nice.
Below are a few more pictures which I was able to take of Moki getting cleaned up after his session...

We hope you enjoyed this weeks physical therapy/hydro therapy pictures and video. As for Moki, we are still working on getting his UTI back under control. Unfortunately, Moki is now starting to battle some chest congestion as well. I put a call into Moki's neurologist earlier this afternoon, and hope to hear back from him some time in the next day or two. Once I hear back from the neurologist who is suppose to be consulting with an orthopedic surgeon about Moki's thoracic inlet problem, we should have a better idea of what we can do for Moki to help out with the chest congestion. (Many of you may recall that we believe Moki's cough, and some of the congestion is a result of the problem going on with Moki's thoracic inlet...) We will be certain to let everyone know just as soon as we get any new information.

In the mean time, our "Autographed Book Raffle," hasn't been doing too well, (understandably so with so much going on in the CB at the moment,) so we are going to continue to run the raffle, through the end of this month (Aug 31st) in hopes that we can raise enough money to help take care of Moki's thoracic inlet problem. We are currently not sure how much this will cost (we should know more in a day or two when Moki's neurologist returns our call...we will give everyone an update about the costs then...)

-----------------------In Other News----------------------

A firm GCI Group who is doing some public relations for Temptations recently sent us an email. They would like our help reviewing some training videos which where made for Temptations Brand Cat Treats. Here is a copy of the actual email we received,

"Hi Moki,

My name is John Carson and I handle all the social media work for GCI Canada, a PR firm in Toronto .

One of our clients is Mars Canada, the producer of Whiskas Temptations. They recently filmed some cat-training videos hosted by trainer Rick Parker that you can see here:
http://www.temptations.ca/tidbits_videos.shtml

Mars Canada is considering filming a second series of videos, so I am identifying prominent cat bloggers to get their opinion on the format. Please would you take a few minutes to watch one (or all) of the videos and let me know (1) what you think worked, (2) what didn’t and (3) any other suggestions on what you’d like to see included. If you could post a link to the video on your blog for other cat lovers to see, then that would be appreciated, as the more opinions we get the better.

Mars Canada wants to reach the people the videos are aimed at to ensure good quality information, and using social media as a new way of doing that.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you can help as part of the cat-blogger community ... all my contact details are below if you need further info.

Many thanks,
John."

This is a rare opportunity to provide your feedback and help shape the kind of information Temptations puts out to it's customers. If you would like to participate and have your voice heard, you can email John with your suggestions and feedback at jcarsonatgcigroup.com (Just be sure to use the @ sign when emailing.)

We hope the raffle picks up for Moki. He looks so unhappy in the water. We cats just weren't born water lovers. At least most of us.

We got one of those emails too. We had such a time trying to fit a post in today we forgot to post it. But we see you did.

Twenty five minutes of paddling! Moki you must be one tired little kitty after that. I hope you had a good long rest afterwards. Here's hoping that nasty UTI is soon under control and you get some good news about the thoracic inlet issue. Sending purrs.
