Moki's Video Update...

It's been awhile since we last posted a video of Moki on his blog, so I thought you all might like to see one. This video was taken this afternoon, and shows the current struggles Moki still faces. Please note that Moki is struggling a bit more in this video because we need to make an appointment to take him in and get his front claws trimmed. Unlike most cats, when Moki's front claws get to long or sharp, they start to interfere with his ability to get around. If we do not keep Moki's front claws trimmed, he starts to get his front claws caught in the carpet which makes it difficult for him to walk and causes him to fall over quite a bit. We do not trim Moki's back claws however, since he uses them for traction while walking...

As some of you are probably aware, Moki has been out of physical therapy for about a month now (due to the chest congestion) and as you can see, it is really starting to affect his ability to get around. I would therefore like to get Moki back into therapy no later than the end of this month. In order to do so, we will be working with Deb and ML once again, to hold some more fundraisers for Moki sometime in the near future to help cover the costs until mommie can land another job.

In regards to the job front, some of you may know that mommie bean has been out of work for quite some time. Well today she had another interview, (which went quite well by the way,) and the job would be absolutely perfect for her. It requires extensive research skills, the kind she has gained through her anthropology studies. In addition to the job being a great fit, it is also located just down the street from our house, and the employer is a huge supporter of higher education, and is willing to work with mommie bean, so that she can continue to go to school while she works. Please, please, please, keep your fingers crossed for mommie bean and wish her lots of luck on landing this job. Well that's all for now.

Watching Moki struggle made us think of those wheeled carts we have seen for pets. They are kind of expensive to buy, but our Grandpa's neighbor had one for her dog that was made of PVC pipe from plans she found on the internet. If it was made in such a way as to support part of his weight while allowing his back legs to assist as he was able, it might help. Just a thought.

Purrs for your job search.

I'm sorry that Moki has to face such challenges. Your mommie is such an amazing person to recognize that there is hope and be willing to help him to get better. He is a very lucky kitty to have such a caring mom. I hope your mommie gets the job she wants.

Moki, You are quite a determined guy. We hope you are able to go back to therapy soon. Give your mombean a hug for all of us. We've got our paws crossed she will get this job, or at least one just as good. With lots of green papers so she can keep up with all of you there.

Oh, and would you tell her the package arrived yesterday. We'll post about it as soon as we can.
