Happy Thanksgiving

Today we have many things to be thankful for.
We are thankful for our many friends!

We are also thankful for the CB.

We are thankful for the overwhelming show of support...
We are thankful for my latest urine sample...

Then...

and now...

(Just look at how nicely my urine has cleared up!!!)

and most of all, we are thankful for every moment we get to spend with Moki. He has touched our lives in an unimaginable way!

The shot we gave Moki on Tuesday didn't have the effects we where hoping for. The shot was part stimulate, which should have made Moki want to moved about, eat and drink. The other part of the shot should have helped to regulate Moki's body temperature. The effects of the shot are pretty immediate and so far, we have seen no signs of improvement. We spoke to the vet again today, because in addition to not wanting to drink, Moki has started to lose his appetite, and is not alerting us, when he needs to go to the bathroom (which is quite unlike him. Moki has always given us advance warning when he needs to go, so we could get him to the litter box, but as of today, he is only alerting us after the fact.) Fortunately I was able to get him to eat a little wet food tonight. To be on the absolute safe side, my boyfriend stopped by the vet and picked up two cans of A/D, just in case we need to force feed Moki during the two days our vet's office will be closed for the holiday. Since Moki still is not drinking, I am having to force water down him. If he doesn't start to drink on his own by Saturday, then we will have to take him back to the vet for a recheck and more sub q fluids. As for Moki's temperature, it continues to remain on the dangerously low side.

I left a voice mail with Moki's neurologist at UC Davis today. He was out of the office, so hopefully I will hear back from him we he returns from the holiday. I feel it is now time to discuss the possibility of Moki's unknown virus becoming active again, this time attacking the portion of his central nervous system which regulates his temp. I will let you know when we hear back from him, and as always will keep you updated with each new step.

Despite all that is going on, and all the challenges we face, we do have a lot to be thankful for and will count each of our blessings accordingly, the biggest of those, being our friends, family, and every moment spent with Moki.

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

P.S.

For all our doggie friends out there, momma bean has add this adorable doggie ornament to our collection for sale.

_____Update: Our Thankgiving Miracle_____

Moki started headbutting me around 2:00 a.m. this morning while I laid asleep in our bed. He wanted some thing so I got up and took him to the bathroom. The bathroom was a no-go, so I placed him in front of his food bowl and to my surprise, Moki's started eating away. After Moki got his fill of food, I tried to get him to drink some water, but he refused. A few minutes ago, while laying in his bed, Moki started to kick off his covers, so I walked over to see what he wanted and here it is...

Our little boy is eating and drinking again!!!

Moki, we are thankful for you and your mum and your family. You are such an inspiration to our mum. When she is feeling a bit down, she thinks of you and all you do, all that you push through and refuse to let it get you down, and it makes her feel stronger.

We wish your beautiful family a wonderful Thanksgiving.
