As some of you may already know from the periodic posts, Moki has been having some problems drinking. I was originally able to off set the problem by offering him cat milk which he readily drank for quite some time, and which made him want to drink more water as well. Over the past couple of days, he's been drinking less and less, so I started to give him more sub-q-fluids, no problem, we've been down that road before and he always starts drinking again on his own given some time. Now however he has decided that he wants to eat less and less. (This has been going on for about three days now...) He is still eating but not nearly as much as he normally does. Ok so we've faced that problem before as well and have always been able to pull him through. As of this morning however, Moki has started to throw up. PROBLEM!
Individually each of the three symptoms are bad but combined we are entering into a very scary territory. As some of you may recall the three symptoms combined are some of the original symptoms Moki had back in 2007.
Moki has been doing well over the past couple of months and has been entirely off the Tamiflu, but it looks as though the ugly demon might just be rearing its head once again. Moki needs to be seen by a doctor and we need to get him started on a new prescription of Tamiflu immediately if we have any hope of nipping this thing in the butt. Unfortunately as most of you know, Moki's old doctor retired, which has left us with no other choice but to find a new one. After scoping out doctors in the area and checking on where they received their medical degrees from, Mom has decided to give this new veterinary hospital a try, http://www.antiochvet.com/. She has an appointment set for tomorrow at 2:10. There is also $100 left in Moki's medical fund, so she is hoping that will be close to enough to cover the cost of the Tamiflu and the doctors appointment and that there will not be any additional unforeseen costs. In the meantime she is asking that everyone please, pur, pray and keep Moki in their thoughts. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that this is just a minor set back and not a sign of worse things yet to come. Let's also hope that this new vet is a good one and can help! Momma bean will provide another update after Moki's doctor appointment tomorrow, or later on tonight should Moki's status change. Thanks again to everyone for the continued purs, prayers and support!

UPDATE:
We found a wonderful new doctor at Antioch Veterinary Hospital! He was so pleasant and understanding of Moki's condition. He wrote Moki up a standing prescription for Tamiflu and called it into a local pharmacy for us. He told me if there was anything I needed for Moki, anything at all, prescriptions etc., to just call him. He's perfect! He's not one of those doctors who is going to make me bring in Moki everything I need a prescription refilled. (Thank Goodness!!!) I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I am to have found such a wonderful new doctor! (Sigh of relief...) He understands the nature of Moki's condition and that the most we can do at this point is supportive care and go with what we already know...
As for Moki, he seemed really comfortable with the new doctor, which is particularly important! So far he has eaten a little today and kept it down but is still not drinking. He wasn't too happy about going to the doctor, but wan't too upset while there. He did however express his discontent during the car ride home, when he peed in the cat bed momma bean had sitting on her lap leaving both momma bean and himself covered in cat pee. Needless to say both momma bean and Moki got a bath when they got home...lol.
Well I'm off now to go pick up the prescription. I'll keep everyone posted on Moki's status as things change...Thanks again to everyone who has sent their purs, prayers and support...!
P.S.
Momma Bean just got back from the pharmacy and the nice new vet issued Moki 25 refills on the Tamiflu. Yah!
