Virology

For those of you who have been following Moki's blog for awhile, you may recall my making a promise to figure out what's been going on with Moki. For the new comers, this may or may not be news to you. In an attempt to keep my promise, I have sought out the advice of numerous vets and relied on some of the most advance diagnostic tests available to provide answers.

To date these methods have failed...

With no where left to go in the veterinary community, there is but one thing left to do...

and that is to seek the answers elsewhere...

You see some of the basic veterinary principles lie in the biological sciences, so if the vets can't figure this thing out, then maybe the biologists can. With that said, I have enrolled in a virology class. Now getting into the class required a little bit of talking, being as I haven't meet any of the classes pre-req's, but after talking with the instructor and explaining my personal interest in the subject matter, he let me in.

So a new chapter is beginning and to start it, I would like to share with you some lectures from my class. Now these lectures are long, approximately two hours in length, and some of you may find them far too long, and or boring to listen to, but for others, particularly my FIP friends, some of these lectures may be of interest to you...

Next step: Working with my instructor to figure out the sequencing of Moki's virus. (He has already made a number of recommendations of the various tests which can be preformed to do this. At last an answer lies within site!)

You are doing such a wonderful thing for Moki and for other kitties who might have the same problems. Mom is going to find time to listen to those lectures since she lost a kitty to FIP.

You're really going all out for Moki. That is one avenue I wouldn't have thought of. Virology is a hard class, we wish you the best in your endeavor. Hope you can figure out his virus and find a cure.

Crystal, thansk so much for sharing the lectures (our Mum is devouring the Interferon one right now) We really admire you for getting to grips with virology with the class. You set the standard for the informed animal steward. We're sure this will really help with understanding Moki's issues and treatments.

Any more updates? I think about Moki often. In fact, I actually had a dream about him a while back. We organized a telethon to raise money for vet bills...some big celebrity names were involved. :)
Give Mok a kiss for me.
