Vaccine Induced Virus

So as many of you are aware, momma bean has been hard at work trying to figure out what caused Moki's illness and she is happy to report that she may have finally made some real break through's in regards to Moki's medical case this week...
For awhile now momma bean has been going over Moki's medical file and leaning towards panleukopenia as being the underlying cause of Moki's condition. Momma bean thinks that the doctors where initally right when looking at panleukopenia as the cause, but where thrown off the panleukopenia trail when the parvo snap test, which was given to Moki early on, came back negative.
Both momma bean and the doctors eventually ruled out Cerebellar Hypoplasia as a possible cause of Moki's neurological condition, when momma bean discovered that the doctors had forgotten to note the fact that Moki was born normal and with that said both momma bean and Moki's doctors turned their attention else where...
Perhaps they made this move too soon...
In the pursuit of answers, Momma bean realized this week, that there was some thing both she and the doctor's had missed and that is that Moki's symptoms first appeared approximately two weeks after Moki received his very first FVRCP vaccination. This very vital piece of information which momma bean still can't believe that both she and the doctors missed, holds the potential to explain quite a few things about Moki's condition...
If momma bean is correct, then she has finally stubbled upon the cause of Moki's condition and that is vaccine induced panleukopenia...The question now is, was the FVRCP vaccination given to Moki an MLV (modified live virus) or a killed virus vaccine...The live vaccine could mean that a new version of the virus was created, where as the killed vaccine would mean that Moki is suffering from an already known strain of the panleukopenia virus...
(More to come...)

We have read many stories about human babies having adverse reactions to vaccines. So sad to think that Moki's problems are due to something that was suppose to help him stay healthy. ~AFSS

They don't make the feline distemper with a live virus- it's always killed. BUT if you can find out what company is making that brand that the vet is using- i would be VERY interested to know!

All animals have a potential to react to a given vaccine- however, the amount of cats that actually react is a very very low number. However, animals that have weakened immune systems... would probably have a higher chance of having a reaction. I'm sure something like that happened to moki.

Tesla got a small lump after her last one... .strange- because she NEVER had a problem with the vaccine before... however, there it was, and we went on antibiotics for it.

Later i heard a vet mention that some old cats have strange reactions to the FD (feline distemper) ALSO--!!!!

There is a brand that has CALICI virus in it----- a particular one that our vet had stopped carrying years ago because it causes weirdo reactions- i wonder if something like that happened?

However, our vet just started carrying it again due to the regular one being hard to get.... And i will NOT give that shot to either of the cats. I'll take my chances with them getting a uri- i will not give them something that can potentially harm them.

This is very interesting! We sure hope you are able to find the cause of Moki's heath problems.

I think all of us at some point in our lives have something that baffles modern medicine. I applaud you for following the trail and trying to unwind the mystery behind what happened to Moki. I do believe that in many instances medicines/drugs/shots are given when not necessary. That is not to say they aren't EVER necessary, but that sometimes they do adverse things to humans and animals. I am so hesitant to give my girls and boys vaccines, and I really weigh the benefits VS the obstacles, because there has been so much written about side effects. Keep following your heart, I know it will lead you to the answer.
