Bella's Wheel Chair Arrived And Moki Gets Worse...

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't had a chance to update you all in awhile. I have been crazy busy. Do to a error made by CSUEB in processing my application, I had to scramble at the last moment trying to find classes at a JC, for fear of not getting into CSUEB this quarter. Of course by the time I started adding classes at the JC, they where already a week into the quarter. Fortunately my application at CSUEB was pushed through at the last moment, and I do mean last, there where only two hours left to enroll in classes before the cut off date and time. Unfortunately, by the time my application was processed, it was already two weeks into the quarter, going on the third. As many of you already know, I am carrying a heavy load this quarter, four classes in English, Science, History and Math, and being one to two weeks behind in all of time just about killed me trying to catch up. Luckily I am now all caught up (well for the most part anyway,) so I have a moment to spare (and I do mean a moment...lol!) So here is what's been happening...

The blood in Moki's urine is getting worse. We took him to the vet earlier this week and tried giving him another shot to see if we could get it to go away. Unfortunately the shot did not work. The time has now come to start running tests to see if the blood in Moki's urine could possibly be do to a rare blood clotting disorder. One of the disorders I am going to ask about particularly is System Lupus Erythematusus. Of course running the tests is going to cost a lot of money, so I will start working on getting some fundraisers together for Moki later this week. Hopefully once the money has been raised, we can finally find an answer to what is going on, (at least with the blood in Moki's urine,) once and for all!

In other news, Bella's wheelchair arrived! I still haven't had a chance to thank everyone who donated, but I haven't forgotten. (As soon as I can find a moment, I'll start sending the thank you's out. I apologize for the delay.) I haven't yet had an opportunity to get the wheelchair over to Bella, but I did leave Bella's owner a message this afternoon, and will hopefully be able to work out a time to take the wheelchair over to her on Monday. When I do finally get the wheelchair to Bella, I will be sure to take lots and lots of pictures for everyone. In the mean time I am going to try taking a picture of the chair itself and adding it to this posting, once I have a little more time, to give you all a better idea of what it looks like.

I hope everyone is doing well, and we will be by to visit you all just as soon as we get a chance. In the mean time if anyone needs to reach us right away, you can drop us an email at questions@savemoki.com. I try to check this email account at least once a day, so it is the fastest way to reach me!

Hugs and Headbutts to Everyone!

We're glad that you got your courses sorted out in the end, but we're really sorry to read that Moki is still having problems with blood in his urine. We're sending healing purrs and purrayers to help him, and we'll be happy to do our bit to help with his v-e-t costs. That's great news about Bella's wheelchair, and we're sure that it'll be a welcome change for her when she gets to try it out.

Poor, poor Moki. Why is it that it seems like the sweetest cats sometimes have the largest crosses to bear in life?

All of us at Possumlady Place send a collective headbutt to Moki.

Oh, and we are excited to hear that Bella's wheelchair came in and look forward to photos!

We are glad you got your classes and that Bella's wheelchair arrived. And we are so sad that Moki continues to have to fight so much. He has been such a good fighting kitty that he deserves a miracle and that is what we will purr for!
